NLUG now meets in the MRB-III Class Room, on the Vanderbilt University Campus (Wireless SSID is "vummiv" and there is no password.). For those that may be using a GPS-enabled phone, the coordinates are lat=36.14421, lon=-86.79914. The meeting is at 6:00 PM on the second Tuesday of each month*. Parking is available in the at the Nursing School Parking Lot or along the empty parking lots along Edgehill and some side streets*. Parking is also available (free during evening hours only) in the East Garage, at the corner of 21st Avenue South and Medical Center Drive, one block south of the meeting room. Immediately after the meeting, some members join for the Steering Committee Meeting, at a near-by restaurant. Everyone is invited to attend.

Each month, we ask someone to present the ways they use Linux and Free Software in their life, often in particular to their career. We are scheduling upcoming speakers, so contact us if you are interested. On occasions when a presenter is not at hand, we will have a roundtable discussion. Members are encouraged to Recommend a Future Presenter, which may include yourself if you like, for unscheduled meetings.

• Greg Jones to present on the tools and process he uses in graphics arts and sculpture, including: Ubuntu Studio, Inkscape, GIMP, Scribus, MyPaint, A Wacom tablet, Agave, PDFs, traditional LAMP for web and inventory organization, and Accounting is via spreadsheet at present. We can talk about that too. How do you run a business completely on Linux and OSS? I am trying to figure that out.

• The Nashville Linux Users Group (NLUG) is hosting a Linux Fest on September 25, 2010 from 10 AM to 4 PM at Watkins College of Art, Design & Film 2298 Rosa L Parks Blvd, Nashville, TN 37228. Come join us to learn about Linux or just hang out with Linux and Free Software enthusiasts!

• There will be free hardware giveaways at the Linux Fest. If you have old hardware or computers to give away, please bring it to the Linux Fest. If you need some parts, come on down and rifle through our stuff!
